Quiet, short and at a distance
Lullsong follows the safety research on infant sound machines (Hugh et al., Pediatrics 2014). Research has measured how fast babies fall asleep with white noise, not whether they sleep longer, and we say so.

What is Lullsong?
Lullsong is an iPhone app that plays white noise, lullabies and other calming sounds to help babies fall asleep. It has 35 seamless sound loops, a sleep timer with a slow fade-out, and lets you mix sounds. It is made by Vesper AI in Zürich, Switzerland.
Does white noise help babies fall asleep?
In a small 1990 trial (Spencer et al., Archives of Disease in Childhood), 16 of 20 newborns fell asleep within five minutes with white noise, compared with 5 of 20 without. That trial measured how fast babies fell asleep, not whether they slept longer.
Is white noise safe for babies?
It can be, if it is quiet, far from the crib and on a timer. Researchers found some infant sound machines can get too loud (Hugh et al., Pediatrics 2014). Keep the volume at about 50 dB or less at the crib, the phone at least 2 metres from your baby and never in the crib, and use a timer. Lullsong turns a 30-minute timer on by default.
Is Lullsong free?
Yes. Ten sounds are free forever, including white noise, rain, a music box and a fan, and you can mix two at once. Lullsong Pro unlocks all 35 sounds, playback of every sound with the screen locked, and mixing three sounds. Pro is available yearly, monthly or as a one-time lifetime purchase, with Family Sharing.
Does Lullsong work offline and with the screen locked?
Yes. All sounds are stored in the app, so it works without internet. Five free sounds keep playing with the screen locked, and with Pro every sound does.
Can Lullsong make a lullaby with my baby's name?
Not yet. Personalized lullabies that sing your baby's name are in development for a future version of Lullsong.
Does Lullsong collect any data?
No. Lullsong has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your settings stay on your iPhone.
